Up to Six QR Code Allowed for a User, Delhi Metro WhatsApp Ticket Booking Services

Good news for Delhi Metro riders! The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has now made it easier for passengers by expanding its WhatsApp-based ticketing service to cover all metro lines in Delhi-NCR. Initially introduced on the Airport Express Line in May, the service received a positive response, leading to its extension to other lines, including the Gurugram Rapid Metro. This user-friendly initiative is a result of collaboration between Meta and its authorized partner, Pelocal Fintech Pvt. Ltd.

Delhi Metro WhatsApp Ticket Booking Services Have Evolved to 12 Lines

“WhatsApp is the preferred messaging platform for the majority of Indians, and buying a metro ticket will now be as easy as messaging a friend or family member. We are confident that this integration will encourage more commuters to choose the Delhi metro as their preferred mode of travel,” said Vikas Kumar, Managing Director, DMRC.

As per DMRC officials, “a maximum of six QR tickets can be generated by a user in a single attempt. Tickets can be booked between 6am and 9pm for all lines and from 4am to 11pm for the Airport Line. Ticket cancellations are not allowed in WhatsApp ticketing. A marginal convenience fee will be applied to transactions via credit/debit card, while none will be charged for UPI-based transactions.

“Up to a maximum of 6 QR tickets can be generated by a user in a single time. Ticket cancellations will not not be allowed in WhatsApp Ticketing, and while convenience fee will be applied to transactions made via credit/debit card, no fee will be charged for UPI-based transactions,” mentioned thehindu.
