On the night of June 5, the world witnessed the penumbral Lunar Eclipse and that is when people got to see the strawberry moon in the sky.

For the unknown, a penumbral lunar eclipse is a phenomenon when the earth, moon and sun are perfectly aligned. This blocks the rays of the sun from reaching the moon.

The eclipse began at 11:15 pm on June 5 and ended at 2:34 am (IST) on June 6. While it was at its peak at 12:54, it was when people got to see the strawberry moon.

Soon, the internet was flooded with gorgeous photos of the same from around the world, which appears to have a light, pinkish tinge. Have a look:
