From Now, No Documents Required To Add, Change Mobile Number On Aadhaar Card

In an appreciable move, UIDAI recently informed that Aadhaar Card-holders no more need any documents to update their mobile number in Aadhaar Card.

For anyone who wishes to change their phone number on the Aadhaar Card, all they need to do is visit the Aadhaar centre with their Aadhaar Card and get the mobile number updated.

Also, besides the mobile number, the Aadhaar Card-holders can also change or update their details like a photograph, biometrics or email id without needing any kind of documents.

“Adding a mobile number to Aadhaar doesn’t require any document. Just carry your Aadhaar to any nearby Aadhaar Center to place an add/update mobile number request”. the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) in a recent tweet said.

Why link Aadhaar Card and phone number?

Besides being mandatory, linking the Aadhaar card with the mobile number comes with many advantages. If you seek the benefits of Aadhaar online services or want to make any corrections in Aadhaar data online,  your mobile number must be registered with UIDAI.

A copy of e-Aadhaar can also be downloaded wherein verification is required to be done via OTP sent to your linked mobile number.

Meanwhile, at the Aadhaar Seva Kendra, services like fresh aadhaar enrolment, name update, address update, mobile number update, email ID update and date of birth (DOB) update are available.
