As the COVID-19 cases in the country are racing towards the 2 lakh mark India is staring at a tough period. And amidst all this lockdown 5.0 looks inevitable. Incidentally, 31st May that is Sunday when the PM would do ‘Mann ki Baat’ is the last day of lockdown 4.0. With states like Maharashtra (hotspot in India) already hinting an extension and Himachal Pradesh extending it till 30th June (initially in 2 districts), things are hinting towards lockdown 5.0.

Further AIIMS director and PM Modi himself during one of his conferences with state CMs said that cases would spike in June-July. In lockdown 5.0 some more restrictions can be expected to say opening or religious places with restrictions. However, schools and colleges would not be opening as the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) recently clarified no-decision in that regard has been taken. Places of worship can open up with restrictions though.

The focus would be on 11 cities with the bulk of the cases. Areas like Cinema hall, malls, etc would still be behind the lock. Tourist spots and hotels may get relief. Though the MHA said that the report of India today is not true it is almost certain that they would go by extension. A 14-day extension formula may be followed.
