If you have been around, you would be aware of a story we did wherein we told you how H&M and Sabyasachi have collaborated to give us an affordable and elegant ethnic collection. And well, it is out now.
Vouge has shared the first glimpse of the ‘ethnic’ collab being termed as Sabyasachi X H&M and it looks simple yet very glamours. For the unknown, this is the first time H&M is giving us ethnic wear to add to our wardrobe so make sure you get one if a fan.
The collection that will go on sale from April 16, blends the traditional and western clothing style in the most simple and India-friendly taste.
The collection features a wide variety of dresses each of them complimented with hand-quilted lapels and waistbands, embroidered necklines, beautiful borders on skirts, chintz prints, some broderie anglaise and so on.
Well, though I don’t know much about fashion, but whatever Sabyasachi has crafted is surely something I can consider wearing. It allows you are a very different look, without overdoing fashion, which India still needs time to adapt to.
About the inspiration behind the work, Sabyasachi says:
“I am a middle-class boy. The greatest joy for me is to be able to create a kind of fashion democracy. I want people to understand the concept of inclusivity and fluidity. These are increasingly important conversations, given our current environment. My big mandate with H&M was to make beautiful, accessible clothing at affordable prices so that I could give back to the middle class.”
Also, the fact that the designer shared that these clothes will be in a budget makes us more excited for them to come to stores.
