Telangana is doing all the firsts these days. After it became the first state to extend lockdown till 7th May when lockdown 2.0 was announced it has done the same this time. As lockdown 3.0 is announced till 17th May Telangana has already extended it in the state.
Telangana would now be under lockdown till the 29th of May. Telangana Chief Minister (CM) K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) last month proposed PM Modi to extend national lockdown till 3rd June. This now looks on cards though as the cases of COVID-19 are multiplying at a fast pace.
The zone was permissions and restrictions would be applicable in the state as stated by the union home ministry. “Public should complete the purchase of essential items by 6 pm and they should reach their residences. There will be a curfew in the state from 7 pm. If anyone is found outside, police will initiate action“, said the CM.
Telangana at present has close to 1100 cases and 29 deaths due to COVID-19. 6 districts in the state are in the red zone. The state has announced to run 40 trains daily from Tuesday to ferry migrant workers in the state to their native place.
