This Lady Built A ‘Doggie-Vator’ For Her Pugs & The Internet Is In Love With The Creation

Pets are known for hopping across the house. Seriously, I have one, trust me I know. But then, at times, comes a spot that they find scary to deal with. Like my dog can’t cross the bar things on the ground.

Similarly, some dogs are just scared of stairs or lazy enough to climb them. And four among those are the Sonya Karimi dogs. The lady from New Orleans had some extra time in her hand during the lockdown that she used to make her dogs a dog elevator.

The owner came up with the idea to build this lift a few months ago when she adopted one of the dogs named Bodhi, who had a torn knee ligament. And he struggles to walk around.

“At work, I’ve seen how helpful stairlifts are to people so I was surprised there wasn’t anything similar for dogs with all the different products that are available for pets nowadays. So I thought that we might be able to create something ourselves for our dogs to use” Sonya told Daily Mail.

The four dogs at her home are 10-year-old Bodhi, 4-year-old Emery, 13-year-old George and 10-year-old Sam. She adds how much dogs love using the elevator especially Emery.

“They’ve adapted to it so quickly, I thought I’d have to train them for a while to get used to it but they just get on it as if they’ve had it for years! The two older pugs love it especially – they won’t use the stairs, they will sit there and wait until the ride is ready for them and it’s so cute,” the owner told Daily Mail.
